As much as we joke that we met while reaching for the same apple at the supermarket, the truth is… we swiped right and the rest is history. After matching on a dating app (Bumble), Kasey started it off by messaging Kevin with a witty pickup line of course! After a few messages, we decided to go on our first date.

The night of the first date, it was REALLY cold in Indianapolis. Kasey debated cancelling on Kevin because she wanted to lay on the couch in her warm PJs instead of getting dressed up for a date. Luckily, Kasey decided to get ready and follow through with the plans. We met at Ralston’s in Indianapolis. The first thing Kasey noticed about Kevin was his deep voice and handsome dimples. Kevin says the first thing he noticed about Kasey was how beautiful she was. After having a couple of beers, sharing a plate of nachos, and playing many games of darts, we knew this was the start of something special. The fact that Kevin didn’t let Kasey win was confirmation that a second date needed to happen as soon as possible.

We planned an unforgettable two week trip to Iceland, Prague, and Paris to celebrate our 1 year anniversary! During the the trip planning, Kasey wondered if Kevin would pop the big question. Kasey had previously expressed that she wanted to be a part of the ring shopping process and wanted to look at rings with Kevin when the time came. Apparently, Kevin had other ideas in mind. As the trip approached, Kasey assumed she wouldn't be getting a ring since they never went to look at them. Little did she know, Kevin was planning this the whole time and the day before our trip, he picked up the ring that he had custom designed weeks ago. After getting through two airports and multiple security checkpoints with the ring in Kevin's jacket, Kevin felt like he could finally relax once we got to Iceland... well sort of (he still had to propose). The first full day of our trip, we rented a car and drove the famous 'Golden Circle' in Iceland. The day was filled with beautiful sights and near death driving experiences but luckily we survived. Our last stop of the day was a beautiful, snow filled crater called Kerid Crater in Klasturholar, Iceland. After walking around it one time, Kevin asked Kasey if she wanted to walk around again "because it was cool." Kasey expressed that she really didn't want to and wanted to get back to the city because she really had to pee LOL. After a little convincing, Kasey agreed to walk around one more time.. and she is so glad she did. At the top of the crater, Kevin set up his tripod with blue tooth remote control to take photos of us. While taking photos, Kevin says "lets try this pose" then got down on one knee and popped the question. Although in complete shock, Kasey immediately said "YES!" It was the perfect surprise in the most beautiful place! We celebrated our proposal for the rest of our trip.
