Flight Options

Our recommendation The most cost effective and efficient option is to fly into Bangor International Airport (BGR), the nearest regional airport is approximately one hour from Bar Harbor. We will be providing shuttle service options for incoming attendees. Other Flight Options: Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) This is by far the most scenic option. Fly to Boston Logan Airport, and then board a Cessna aircraft and fly up the coast of Maine directly to Bar Harbor Airport. We did this when we visited Maine the first time 4 years ago, and it was incredible. Portland International Jetport (PWM) Fly into historic Portland, ME and take a scenic drive up the coast (approximately 3.5 hours from Bar Harbor). Portland is incredible and worth a trip. Augusta State Airport Approximately 2 hours from Bar Harbor. We haven't done this, but this is apparently another option.

Bar Harbor Regency & Other Lodging Options

Staying at our wedding venue The Bar Harbor Regency is the most convenient option, however Bar Harbor offers a variety of lodging options to suit every preference and budget. Some Popular Hotels & Inns: Bar Harbor Inn Harborside Hotel, Spa & Marina Balance Rock Inn Hampton Inn Bar Harbor Atlantic Oceanside Hotel Canterbury Suites B&B The Maples Inn The Elmhurst Inn Hearthside Inn Mira Monte Inn & Suites Yellow House B&B The Primrose Thornhedge Inn Since September is a popular travel time for Bar Harbor, we recommend booking accommodations as soon as possible for the best value.

Transportation Options

Rental Car (Our Recommendation) For those that want to access Acadia National Park, this the most flexible option. We highly recommend buddying up with others. Downeast Transport Shuttle There is a public shuttle that runs from Bangor Airport to Bar Harbor (and back) on weekdays. It costs $9/person. Wedding Shuttle We will be arranging an additional private shuttle service for guests. Details TBD. Uber/Lyft are available in Bar Harbor.
