Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Stewart Arp and Rachel Curtis
Bar Harbor is a destination in itself between the town and Acadia National Park! Here are some of our favorite spots and activities to help you make the most of your time.

Acadia National Park

ME

Check off a national park while you're here! Cadillac Mountain - Highest point on the U.S. Atlantic coast with 360° views; first place to see sunrise Oct-March (vehicle reservations required mid-May through mid-October) Park Loop Road - 27-mile scenic drive with stops at Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Otter Cliff, and Jordan Pond Carriage Roads - 45+ miles of car-free roads perfect for biking and walking Hiking Trails - 120+ miles ranging from easy (Jordan Pond Loop) to challenging (The Beehive)

Lulu Lobster Boat Ride

55 West Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

When in Maine, have lobster—preferably after meeting them first! Hop aboard the Lulu for a two-hour cruise where you'll watch traps being hauled, learn way too much about lobster anatomy, spot seals lounging on rocks, and maybe even kiss a lobster (it's a thing, apparently)

Galyn's

17 Main Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

A Bar Harbor institution since 1986 serving fresh Maine seafood, hand-cut steaks, and craft cocktails in a cozy, art-filled atmosphere. This is where Stew tried his first oysters—and actually liked them, proving that Maine can work miracles. Snag a table upstairs overlooking the harbor if you can; the views pair perfectly with their lobster fettuccine.

Leary's Landing Irish Pub

156 Main Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

"Closest Irish Pub to Ireland in the US"—their claim, not ours. Home to Bar Harbor's best burgers, perfectly poured Guinness, and the spot where Rachel had her first cup of chowder. They've got blueberry-glazed wings because even the Irish can't resist Maine's signature fruit.

Jordan's Restaurant

80 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

A Bar Harbor institution since 1976, specializing in wild Maine blueberry everything. This is where Rachel and Stew had legendary blueberry pancakes that sent them into a food coma post-Cadillac Mountain sunrise—totally worth waking up at 4am. Open at 5am for all your early-morning carb-loading needs. The upcharge for warm wild blueberry syrup is non-negotiable.

Geddy's

19 Main Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

A Bar Harbor institution since 1974, located under the iconic moose on Main Street. Perfect for post-hike drinks with harbor views—grab a Firecracker Martini or the local favorite Blueberry Beer (because everything in Maine must involve blueberries). The upstairs seating overlooks Agamont Park, ideal for people-watching while debating whether you've earned another round.

Acadia Perk

5 Firefly Lane, Bar Harbor, ME 04609

Locally-owned coffee shop right by the Village Green—Rachel and Stew, certified coffee addicts, give it their full stamp of approval for pre-hike fuel or post-wedding hangover solutions. Grab a blueberry lavender latte (yes, more blueberries) or stick with the classics. Either way, you'll need the caffeine if you're attempting Cadillac Mountain at sunrise.
