Maid of Honor
The maternal cousin of the bride. She came to live with the bride and her family from Mexico. You'll often hear the bride refer to her as her "sister."
Best Man
The younger brother of the groom. Tyler and his wife Bekah have two kids. Zack is two and a half and Cole is less than a year. Tyler is now a firefighter and while he is Chris' younger brother, he is someone Chris looks up to most.
Matron of Honor
The bride and Catherine have been friends for a little over 10 years. They attended the same university and often joke that their friendship is one of the best things that came out of their small university they both attended. When Catherine got married, Melissa helped to coordinate her wedding. Catherine is often referred to as the bride's "person."
Groomsman
Chris and Marco are great hometown friends. They met when they both worked at Dairy Queen in high school. Chris and Marco have been on countless camping and roadtrips.
Bridesmaid
Kayla is often referred to as the bride's "life partner." Kayla and Melissa attended the same university. They both taught in the same district and Kayla taught a few years at Melissa's old elementary while Melissa was teaching in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their friendship was built on many camping and roadtripping adventures.
Groomsman
Korey and Chris have been great friends since the end of high school. Chris and Korey have been on many adventures ever since. Korey now lives in Denver with his wife Gavi.
Bridesmaid
April is friends to both the bride and groom. April is the one credited for introducing the couple. April and Melissa were both born in Anchorage, Alaska. They both lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and that's where they became childhood friends. April and her family moved away, but in the pandemic, when April got married, they reconnected. That’s when April introduced Melissa to her and her husband’s roommate, Chris.
Groomsman
Antonio and Chris met shortly after he met Marco at Dairy Queen. Chris and Antonio were roommates for 3 years. Chris and Antonio once camped on a barrier island only accessible by boat. Antonio now lives with his wife April.
Bridesman
Jaren helped to hire the bride after her time in New Mexico, and that’s what brought her to Milwaukee. While their friendship is still less than 5 years old, they have become very close friends over the years. Jaren and the bride joke that they get into quite a few misadventures and that’s part of what has brought them closer together. Jaren now lives in the Baltimore area.
Groomsman
Joe and Chris first met on the track team in high school and have been great friends since. Joe now works in the music industry in Nashville.
Officiant
Dr. James Stevens is a close family friend of the Chacón family. His wife, Rita Stevens, worked at the hospital Melissa was born at. Melissa often refers to him as her "Tio (Uncle) Jim" and to this day is a person who has never forgotten her birthday. Jim was also the first person who said that "Chris was the one." Glad he was right!
Music Coordinator
Elisa and the bride were in the same program in university. When they graduated they embarked on a huge professional and personal journey of teaching together and helping a small school grow. They eventually became roommates. They consider themselves "sisters" after everything they've been through together.
