Melissa hadn’t seen her childhood friend, April, in a long time. After realizing that they were in the same area, they met up to catch up. After binging the show, “Indian Match Making,” on Netflix, Melissa decided she was done with dating the “modern” way. When April asked Melissa if she was single or dating, Melissa asked if she knew anyone she’d be willing to set her up with. April mentioned her and her husband’s roommate was a great guy and didn’t know why he was still single. Melissa agreed to coming over sometime and meeting April and her husband, Antonio’s, roommate, Chris. Chris and Melissa both didn’t expect anything to come out of the set up. But after staying up most of the night talking, Melissa and Chris hit it off right away.

Melissa says they dated since the day they met. But Chris will remind Melissa that she told him to "ask her again in a couple weeks" to be his girlfriend the first time he asked her out on October 19, 2020. No worries- A month later, the second time he asked, November 28, 2020 they became official.

Chris told Melissa that she would see it coming when he asked. He had come home with her for Christmas in New Mexico and had talked to her parents in December. Even knowing this, when Chris got down on a knee in Melissa's living room and asked her to spend their future together, she says she didn't see it coming.
