We're Getting Married!

Sometimes the best moments in life are the ones that were unplanned. It was a typical hot and humid summer afternoon in 2019. Hannah and Lathen had just started their summer breaks after finishing freshman year of college. Hannah was driving home from the gym when she noticed a sweaty boy who looked to be her age, cutting grass at the entrance of her subdivision. Hannah thought he was cute and wanted to get his number, but she couldn’t muster up enough courage to get it herself. Instead, she called her mom, Sara, to see if she would stop and ask him for it since she was driving only a few minutes behind. Sara caved in to her daughter’s request and drove right up to the boy when she turned into their subdivision. She waved him over to her car, and the boy walked over. It turns out that boy was Lathen, who thought he was going to be dealing with another lawn critic. However, his interaction with Sara went a complete different direction. After going through a full questionnaire of his life story and future plans, Sara arrived back home with Lathen’s number to give to Hannah. Hannah texted Lathen later that night and a week or so later they went on their first date; axe throwing. It was a first for the both of them. Lathen was a natural, while Hannah struggled. Although Lathen hates to lose, he tried very hard to let Hannah beat him. Hannah never won any of the rounds, but Lathen's cute gesture shared with many laughs won her over. The two went on several more dates and their relationship grew quickly. They bonded over their many similarities and shared values. All of this wouldn't have happened if Sara didn't pull over to get Lathen's number. It’s these small inflection points that can change your life forever. We now celebrate going on 6 years together and forever to go! Cheers to the soon-to-be Becker’s, we cannot wait to be celebrating with all of our favorite people in our favorite place!

Hannah and Lathen's favorite time spent together is outdoors. In October 2023, the couple vacationed to Colorado to hike the Rocky Mountains. Lathen knew that Hannah always dreamed of a proposal at the top of the mountains. Sure enough, on October 17, 2023, Lathen got down on one knee while they were hiking the beautiful mountain range of Maroon Bells. Hannah, of course, said yes as tears filled her eyes. Hannah was shocked, while Lathen couldn’t believe she didn’t see it coming. It was the most beautiful moment and the couple celebrated their love and their forever future the rest of their vacation!
