Kyle was born on October 30, 1998, in Chesapeake, Virginia, where he grew up his whole life. He is the oldest of three siblings. From a young age, Kyle has had a passion for the great outdoors and is an avid hunter and angler. Growing up he also loved to head to the beach and surf as well as particiating in track and feild. Kyle graduated from Virginia Tech, where he studied Wildlife Conservation, graduating in December 2021. And just after earning his degree, he completed the training academy to become a Game Warden—fulfilling a lifelong calling to protect the wild and serve the land he loves with all his heart.
Lily Miller
Bride
Lily was born on November 17, 1997, in Derwood, Maryland where she grew up her whole life. She is the oldest of three siblings. She threw herself into swimming, soccer, track, and even competitive volleyball throughout high school and college. In May of 2021, she proudly graduated from East Carolina University, majoring in Hospitality and Business, dreaming of creating memorable experiences for others. Shortly after, she found her true calling working at event venues, her enthusiasm for event planning shining brightly. Lily’s love for adventure runs deep — she’s traveled to 28 states and explored 10 countries, each journey fueling her zest for life and her desire to embrace every new experience with heart and excitement.

Ingrid and Lily have been soul sisters since their second year of elementary school. Their friendship grew in the magic of Girl Scouts, growing stronger with each passing year. Together, they’ve embarked on incredible adventures! From the blue beaches of the British Virgin Islands to the historic, winding streets of England, Scotland, Italy, and Canada. Even as life takes them down different paths in their college years and miles separate them, their friendship remains unshakable. And whenever they reunite, it’s as if no time has passed, nothing in this world can extinguish their friendship!

Kendall and Lily’s journey burst into life during their very first weeks at East Carolina University, as they stepped into the world of sorority recruitment—Epsilon Sigma Alpha. From that first moment they hung out at their first ECU football game, they became inseparable. Shortly after, they became roommates for 4 years. Their hearts overflow with endless treasured memories—cooking in their kitchen, game nights, wandering through charming coastal towns, embarking on a road trip to Marco Island, and lots of late-night drives. They share a love for antiquing, collecting seashells, and raising glasses of sweet strawberry wine.

Though she is Lily's cousin by blood, their bond runs so much deeper—because their mothers are sisters, they are truly sisters at heart. Throughout Lily’s life, she has been more than just a cousin; she’s been a guiding light, a unwavering mentor whose love and support have shaped her in countless ways. Lily’s gratitude for her presence is immense, for she’s been a steady anchor in her journey. Together, they conquered their first half marathon at the Marine Corps event, and they also attended their very first (of many) country concert featuring Darius Rucker—moments that filled their hearts with joy and created memories they will cherish forever.

Katelyn and Lily’s friendship ignited in college through Kendall. Whenever Katelyn visited they would all go out together and have a blast. When Lily moved to Chesapeake, their friendship blossomed even brighter. Some of their most treasured memories are lively nights at PBR, discovering hidden treasures in antique shops, and pouring their hearts into fun arts and craft nights.

During their first recruitment week, Lily and Kendall welcomed Leah into their sorority through an enthusiastic bid. There is a side joke that Lily and Kendall adopted Leah as their daughter. Leah soon after joined as their 3rd roommate, during which they created many lasting memories. Some of their most memorable experiences include trips to Savannah, Nashville, Acadia National Park, and late-night drives to Sonic. Leah is just as adventurous and eagerly participated in Lily's spontaneous plans. Over the years, they have cultivated a friendship built on fun and exploration. They also both learned the Footloose line dance!

Maddie is Kyle's spirited, younger sister, a truly remarkable girl who's fiery, fun, and resilient. Lily feels such joy in getting to know Maddie, admiring her fierce drive and unbeatable strength. Lily loves going back to Chesapeake each summer and the 3 of them going out to surf! They share a love for volleyball and country music. Kyle teases that their future daughter will be blessed with the best volleyball coaches around!
Rex Diaz

Rex and Kyle have been best friends since sixth grade. He is the kind of friend anyone would be fortunate to have and has supported Kyle from the very start. Both share a passion for martial arts and cross country running growing up, and he became part of the Hanes family almost immediately. He’s the type of friend who would share warmth during a cold night, such as when he did so during a high school camping trip. What a true blue friend!
Kody Hanes

Kody is Kyle's younger brother. Although they did not always see eye to eye while growing up, he remains the best brother Kyle could ask for. They both share a common interest in fishing and gaming and will constantly compete over who is top angler in the family is.
Jason Miller

Jason is Lily's younger brother, and over the years, their bond has grown stronger through the mutual sharing of their unique passions. Jason's enthusiasm for music and Kyle's deep love for outdoor adventures. Together, they've cherished moments—cheering loudly at Capitals games and immersing themselves in the vibrant soul of New Orleans on a family trip. Kyle genuinely values the friendship that has blossomed between them and is glad to have him as a future brother in law.

Scotty and Kyle met at a Hunter Education Event for the DWR. They were assigned to the same cabin and experienced one of the coldest nights of their lives together. Fortunately, they had each other to help stay warm LOL. Both share a passion for the outdoors and are now colleagues committed to upholding the laws of Virginia's wildlife.

Ethan and Kyle met in fifth grade. Ethan managed to get Kyle out of his shell and became more outgoing. He introduced him to a variety of new activities, including camping, cross country, and surfing. Throughout the years, they planned visits to various places around Chesapeake, enjoying many memorable experiences during their childhood. Ethan, Rex and Kyle still get out surfing together every minute they can!

Joey is Lily's youngest brother, and over the years, Kyle has truly come to cherish the special bond they've built. Through their shared love for classic movies, the comforting taste of sweet tea, and the thrill of a perfectly cooked steak. Kyle is excited to spend more time with him and is glad to have him as a future brother in law.

Caleb is the son of Alex Mayberry (Officiant) and Kim Mayberry (Bridesmaid). Lily recalls holding him the day after his birth and was apprehensive about dropping him, as he was so small. He has since grown into a very sweet boy and will undoubtedly be the most handsome ring security there!

Lani is one of Lily's youngest cousins, whom they both adore. She is certain to be the most sassiest and charming flower girl there.

Parents of the Bride
Lily's parents first met during their high school years at Gaithersburg High School and were in a committed relationship for eight years. They married on June 1st, 1996, and have enjoyed a longstanding and fulfilling marriage, celebrating over 30 years together. Since the birth of Lily, they have welcomed two additional children, Jason and Joesph. Mark was born in Maryland, and Tam was born in Vietnam. They share a passion for travel, indulging in adventures cuisines, and spending lots of time with family and friends.

Kyle's parents first met in Chesapeake, Virginia, when they relocated to the same neighborhood. They developed a close relationship for 8 years and got married on April 12, 1997. They have now been married for over 29 years. Throughout their marriage, they welcomed two additional children: Kody and Madeleine. Steven was born in Oklahoma, and Lilliana was born in New York. They enjoy trips to the beach as well as skiing! Their most recent life update is welcoming the cutest chickens into the family!
Alex Mayberry

Alex is married to Lily's cousin, Kim Mayberry. Lily has known him since high school and was also a bridesmaid at Kim & Alex's wedding. Since then, Kyle has gotten to know Alex, and they share a love for quality game meats, firearms, and late-night bowls of Frosted Flakes. Lily and Kyle both carefully considered who they wished to officiate their wedding, and through divine guidance, they were led to Alex. He is one of the most humble individuals we know, sharing a devotion to Christ and having been a wonderful husband to Kim for over 11 years. We believe there is no one more qualified or worthy than Alex for this role.
