FAQs

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

We kindly ask you to RSVP by 1 August, 2025.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We kindly ask for your understanding that attendance is limited to the guest(s) specifically listed on your invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

To ensure everyone can relax and enjoy themselves, our wedding will be an adults-only event.

Question

I would like to give the couple a gift. What is the best way to do so?

Answer

If you are thinking of giving a gift to help us on our way, pounds (£) towards our future would really make our day! Alternatively, please visit the 'Registry' tab for other ways to give electronically in $/£/€.

Question

How can I travel to the venue from the centre of Florence?

Answer

On the day of our wedding, we will provide our guests staying in Florence a shuttle service to and from the venue. The pick-up and drop-off location will be in the centre of Florence, outside Santa Maria Maggiore Church on Via dei Vecchietti. Please stay tuned for the specific shuttle times.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our ceremony is black-tie optional. Please note, the aperitivo and dinner will be outside on gravel and grass.

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony, aperitivo and dinner are outside with the party taking place inside the venue Limonaia. Should we have adverse weather on the day, everything will be taking place inside.

Question

Should I eat beforehand?

Answer

We advise that you have a meal before arriving as canapés will not be served until after the ceremony at around 5pm.

Question

Where can I stay before and/or after the wedding?

Answer

Please visit the travel page on our website which lists all our recommendations for accommodation - including hotels, Airbnb's or listings through sites like Booking.com.

Question

I need to get a taxi in Florence - what are the main things I need to know?

Answer

Taxis can’t be hailed in the street; they must be booked by phone via RadioTaxi, via app (such as itTaxi), or picked up at designated taxi stands. These stands are in all tourist hotspots such as Piazza Santa Croce, Piazza della Repubblica etc. with taxis coming quite frequently (depending on the time of day.) You can pay either by cash or card. A taxi from the city centre to the airport is around €30.

Question

If I need to rent a car, how should I do this?

Answer

All airports in Italy have plenty of car rental providers including Avis, Europcar and Sicily By Car, and more. Depending on where you are renting from, you should be able to pick up/drop off in different locations. Please note that whilst automatic cars are available, they will be more expensive than manual. It is not recommended to drive in Florence's city centre due to restricted ZTL (Zona Traffico Limitato) areas in the city centre where only residents and authorised vehicles can drive. If you plan to explore the Tuscan countryside, rent a car from locations outside the ZTL.

Question

If I need to take a train, what are the main things I should know?

Answer

All train tickets can be purchased either online via websites such as The Trainline or Trenitalia or using the ticket machines in all stations. Remember if your ticket does not specify your train time, you will need to stamp/validate it using the validation machines at the beginning of the platforms. If you do not validate your ticket and you are approached on a tram or train, you will be fined up to €100. If in doubt, always ask a staff member. Italy has an array of high-speed train services like La Frecciarossa and Italo which connect Florence with major cities like Rome, Venice, Milan, and Naples. Additionally, there are regional trains that connect nearby Tuscan cities like Siena, Pisa, and Lucca. They are slower but scenic!

Question

If I need to take a bus at any point, how should I do this?

Answer

Autolinee Toscane regional buses connect Florence with surrounding towns. Additionally, you can get cheap tickets on Flixbus which are budget-friendly coaches connecting Florence to other major Italian cities and some European locations. They stop near Villa Costanza, just outside the city, where you can connect to the tram which will take you into the city centre. Terravision buses run from Pisa Airport to Florence (about 70 minutes).

Question

Can I use public transport in Florence?

Answer

Absolutely! Florence is an incredibly walkable city however, should you need to, there are excellent public transport services. Florence’s tram system is clean, efficient, and inexpensive. Line T1 and T2 are the main lines that connect the suburbs with the city centre. Buses are operated by Autolinee Toscane, with routes covering the city and suburbs. Tickets are available at Tabacchi (tobacco shops), kiosks, or via apps like Tabnet. Always remember to validate your ticket upon boarding - this can be done by inserting the ticket into the machines on board which will stamp them with the time/date of your travel.
