Charleston International Airport

Kiawah Island is 33 miles from the Charleston airport and is about a 45 minute drive. Usually there is no issue using a ride-hailing app to get from the airport out to the island or car rentals can be picked up from the airport. However Ubers/Lyfts are not present on the Island, so return transportation to the airport should be scheduled in advance. We would highly recommend renting a car if you are not staying at the resort as Uber/Lyft is limited on the island itself. The second half of the drive to Kiawah is beautiful if you arrive while it is light out! Lots of live oak trees and Spanish moss.

Shuttle Buses

Buses to Resort Properties (Will not go to Ceremony, Welcome party, or Afterparty): Shuttles are available for resort guests untill 11pm. Call 888-601-4904 ext. 82900 to book resort shuttles to many of the facilities on the Island. Please note that these shuttles will not take you to the River course (ceremony venue) or personal addresses (it will not drop off or pick up from the Keitelman house or Afterparty House). Call extension 82900 and the shuttle will pick you up within 10-15 minutes of your call. Our Privately booked transport to the Wedding Ceremony: If you indicated that you needed bus transportation to the wedding ceremony or rehearsal dinner, you will receive an email with information on your pick up and drop off location. Of note, these buses will end at 11pm on both nights. During the wedding the bus will be available to start taking people home whenever. At 10:30 the buses will first round to Ocean park to drop off at the Afterparty for those interested in attending and will drop guests off at their accomodations for those not attending the after party. Transportation after 11pm (from the after party) is not provided, if you plan to attend the afterparty we reccomend having a DD or leaving a car for later. If you ended up renting a car or plan on driving to any of the events, please let us know so the buses are not waiting on you.

Kiawah Island Rentals

We recommend booking in the Turtle Cove/East Beach area close to the Sanctuary as transportation for the ceremony will be picking up here (it is also 1 mile from the venue and there is parking so you are welcome to drive if you prefer). Booking through the Resort: Please call 1-800-654-2924. Tell the agent you are booking for the Goldman-Houston Wedding or book online and in notes write booking number 19110. This will extend a discount off nightly rates on villas, homes, and the Sanctuary. There are villas and homes available to rent through the resort. There are 1, 2, and 3 bedroom villas to choose from. By booking directly through the resort, you will receive discounted rounds of golf and complimentary shuttle access. Condos and houses can also be booked through third party vendors. These include: Pam Harrington Exclusives Air BNB Vacasa If booking through a third party you may or may not have access to the resort ammenities so make sure to ask when you book!
