Kiawah is an amazing place to bike, either on the designated bike paths throughout the island or directly on the beach. It is one of our favorite activities and we highly recommend it. Below are a few rental options if you do not bring your own. If you are staying at the Sanctuary, bikes will be made available to you through the hotel. If you are renting a home or villa from the Kiawah Resort, rent bikes directly from Kiawah (1-800-654-2924) since they will offer a discount. If you are staying at the Andell Inn, rent from Seacoast Sports (1-843-768-8486) located directly in Freshfields Village.
There are many courses on the Island. Anyone staying at The Sanctuary or renting through the Kiawah Resort will receive a discount. For those wanting to book a tee time at one of the 5 championship courses, please contact the resort directly.
Relax on Kiawah's 10 miles of beach. They are hard enough to run or bike on if you so desire and the weather is still pleasant in October. You can access the beach at the public entrance near East Beach, or park at the Ocean course and walk around. The stretch of beach between the beach club and ocean course (turn right from the ocean course) is dog friendly year round. Beach chair and umbrella rentals are available through Island Beach Resorts. They will deliver and set up at the boardwalk closest to where you're staying.
