Yes. Unfortunately due to the number of healthcare workers and elderly family members we are requiring all guests to be fully vaccinated.
Staying in Charleston is an option, however, transportation to events may be difficult for you as Ubers from Kiawah back to the mainland can be difficult to get especially at night time. It is a 40-60 min drive on dark windy roads. There is parking at the ceremony for those who would prefer to drive and plan to stay sober.
Kiawah is a great place for dogs, the beach is dog friendly in October and the Andell Inn is pet friendly. We kindly ask that dogs not come to the ceremony or reception only because there will already be several in the ceremony who are easily distracted and the venue is not dog friendly indoors.
Similar to the previous statement about dogs we love your kids and they are welcome to come for the weekend , but, if they are not in the ceremony we ask that they stay home for the ceremony and reception. The reception will have an open bar and we cannot promise a child friendly environment. If you need a baby sitter just text Charlotte we have a list going
Probably yes. Kiawah is a 45 min drive from Charleston. It is nice having a car on the island as there is ample parking and lots to see. If you stay at the resort they have some shuttles available. If you do not rent a car, be aware there are no Ubers on the island so you can reach the island by Uber, once there it’s hard to get an Uber back to the airport. We recommend booking a green taxi in advance for transportation back to the airport, see the travel tab for more information.
