We met the day before freshman year of college at Colorado State University in a dining hall of all places. We were inseparable best friends from that moment on. That friendship grew into the best relationship we could have ever imagined. Through the 3 years of life together, we have made incredible memories, adopted a sweet goldendoodle named Peggy and have traveled the world. We planned an 18 day road trip down the coast of California only 4 months into dating and pretty much knew we would be together for a long time after that. Nothing is better than a compatible traveling companion! We only solidified that fact when we backpacked through Europe this summer for over a month and road-tripped through Canada and the Pacific Northwest! We share a love for travel and we cannot wait to see where that love leads us! We are so excited to start our lives together as husband and wife and are so happy we get to share this special day with you!
We spent the morning of November 10, 2018 in Estes Park at the YMCA of the Rockies (which turned out to be our wedding venue later on)! We were enjoying the views and mountain air, it was the perfect day. We decided on our way out to drop into Rocky Mountain National Park to take pictures of the sunset! The lighting was perfect and Sprague Lake was frozen over. It was hours before a big snow storm so we had the lake almost completely to ourselves! Connor knew he wanted to propose that day, but wished he could have someone document the moment. After half an hour of taking pictures and enjoying the peace and quiet, we were joined by another small group of people on our side of the lake. It was a professional photographer doing a maternity shoot for a husband and wife! What are the odds?! He offered to take a picture of the two of us with our camera and Connor knew it was now or never. Completely unplanned, Connor asked to marry me on the edge of Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park and had a professional photographer document the moment. We were so overwhelmed with joy and amazement to how lucky we were to have all the pieces fall into place for us. Our proposal story reminds us so much of the life we have had together so far. It has been spontaneous and unplanned, but perfect in our eyes. We are thrilled to take a big step forward into marriage with one another!
