We can't wait to celebrate!

We were friends at work long before this date, but this is the day everything changed for us. Halleigh was hosting her birthday party at The Scene in Augusta, and her friend, Jay, had invited Trevor to come out with him. After seeing Trevor was there, Halleigh was excited to say hello and catch up. We talked all night long, and Halleigh barely participated in her own birthday party. At some point during the night, Halleigh confessed to Trevor that she had a crush on him, and that's where it all began!

Halleigh's friends came to Augusta for the weekend from North Carolina, and she thought it was just a regular visit. That Saturday, our friend Jay asked if we wanted to go to a drag brunch at Savannah River Brewing Company on Sunday morning. We all decided that it would be fun, but Trevor had to work that morning, so he couldn't come. Halleigh was still excited to go to brunch with her friends, so we all went. The drag brunch host announced the first performer as "Mathilde, making her debut performance that was dedicated to someone special." Mathilde finished her performance and took the mic to dedicate the performance to the special individual. As it turns out, Mathilde was actually Trevor, the special someone was Halleigh, and the proposal went down. It wasn't until Mathilde (aka Trevor) said Halleigh's name that she realized what was happening. Trevor proposed with Halleigh's late grandmother's ring that was given to him with her parents' blessing. Trevor had been planning this elaborate proposal for months and coordinating with the drag queens to make it extra special and to make sure Halleigh wouldn't see it coming.
