Some of Brian's fondest childhood memories are of visits to this zoo. I (sadly) have not visited yet, but I absolutely will before the wedding, during what is sure to be one of our many trips down to Columbia between now and the big day!
Now, for anyone that knows Brian, you know that he loves beer...like, a LOT. He's become quite the little brewmaster himself over the last year, and while that's cool and all, I'm just glad he's actually using that expensive beer kit I got him for his birthday. Stop by Columbia Craft Brewing for a good time & a good beer!
Anyone that knows me also knows how big of a sweet tooth I have, and I am forever coercing Brian over to the 'dark side' of having dessert after every meal (sorry not sorry). This place has a little something for everyone -- ice cream, cookie sandwiches, specialty sweet drinks -- and their flavors are always out of the ordinary!
Columbia gets a lot of its charm from its history! Stop by the Historic Columbia Foundation to learn more about the several historic homes in Columbia available for touring-- some examples are: Woodrow Wilson Family Home, Hampton-Preston Mansion & Gardens, and the Robert Mills House and Gardens.
We love food and food loves us back (maybe a little too much). Cola's is number one on our list of quintessentially iconic Columbia restaurants to try out soon. We'll be sure to report back on it's worthiness before the wedding weekend arrives!
I am an absolute sucker for a farmer's market! This is another attraction that I, myself, have not yet been able to mark off my list, but you can bet I will before too long. September will also be a great time for you all to visit to stock up on all the best fall produce!
Brian and I are always up for a lazy stroll outdoors (when it's not 98 degrees with 100% humidity, that is). The Riverfront Park has a beautiful walking/jogging trail along the river, and is all around just a great place to get out and see Columbia while stretching your legs a bit (but not too much)!
We visited Bernie's on our first trip down to Columbia to look at wedding venues, and I'll just say...if you want to taste the best fried chicken of your life (yes, even better than your grandmama's), then stop by Bernie's for a meal!
