Home to the bride's family, Birmingham has a great downtown space to walk around in nice weather with beautiful parks, great shopping, and excellent restaurants. For food, check out Toast, 220 Merrill, Social, and Tallulah.
If you're looking for a classic Detroit Saturday morning activity, head to this massive farmers' market to try delicious local produce, check out awesome murals, and pick up some snacks and crafts before the wedding. Head to Eastern Market Brewing or Detroit City Distillery for a drink, have a slice of pizza (best in town) at Supino's, and check out one of a kind prints at Signal Return.
If you're looking for something to do on Saturday morning, grab a cup of coffee and head to Cranbrook for a walk through the gardens or around the lake. Located within 2 miles of each lodging accommodation, this is a beautiful place to spend some active time. There is also a science museum on site, if this is something that interests you.
This is the bride's happy place. One of the staples of fall time in Michigan, the cider mill provides a cozy place to get cider doughnuts, and all seasonal treats. Enjoy both the scenery and your goodies from a bench on the beautiful property
A great spot to hang out and get cultured. Don't miss the wall-to-wall room of murals in Rivera Court, or Kresge Court, one of the coolest places for coffee and snacks in the city.
Even if you don't feel like spending $700 on a new watch or $250 for a hotel room, don't let it deter you from spending time at the Shinola Hotel. Located in the heart of downtown, it's one of the most beautiful spaces in the city and has a lot of ways for the public to enjoy. The hotel lobby, which has been named the "family room of Detroit", is open to all, and is a great space to kick back with a coffee or cocktail. The hotel is also home to San Morello, an excellent Italian restaurant, and Evening Bar, a super cool speak-easy cocktail lounge. The hotel property also houses a large sports bar (Brakeman), coffee shop (Madcap), and a few cool stores (Shinola, Madewell, Good Neighbor).
Our recommendation in the long-debated, heated discussion of superior Coney dog Establishment. Make your own opinion, however, and indulge in a dog at both Lafayette and neighboring/rival American Coney Island. Bring cash if you’re planning on heading to Lafayette as the restaurant only accepts cash payments.
