Question

Do I need a passport?

Answer

Yes — a valid passport is required for entry into Italy. If you’re traveling from the U.S., no visa is needed for stays under 90 days, but your passport must be valid for at least three months past your planned return date.

Question

When should I plan to arrive in Stresa?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, to give yourself time to settle in before the wedding on Thursday, June 25th. If you’re able, consider arriving a few days earlier to enjoy the beauty of Lake Maggiore and adjust to the time zone!

Question

Will my phone work in Italy?

Answer

Most major U.S. carriers offer international plans — just check with your provider before you travel. For example, we buy the International Buy Up plan with T-Mobile for unlimited data, texting and calling for $50. Free Wi-Fi is widely available in hotels and restaurants. Consider turning on airplane mode and using Wi-Fi with WhatsApp for easy texting and calling.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for the wedding is formal garden attire — think summer suits for men and bright colored elegant gowns. We ask that you avoid wearing black. We encourage light, breathable fabrics and block heels or wedges, as parts of the event will be on grass or cobblestone. Italy is extremely hot during late June, so please be prepared!

Question

Do I need cash (Euro) on arrival?

Answer

You don’t need to exchange money before leaving the US — we recommend using an ATM upon arrival, which is easy and usually offers the best exchange rate. ATMs are readily available at the airport and in town. Let your bank know you will be traveling to Italy so your card is not flagged. Many US banks have "sister" banks in Italy! When using ATM's abroad we recommend using an ATM inside/apart of a bank rather than an ATM on the street.

Question

Do I need to speak Italian?

Answer

Nope! While learning a few Italian phrases never hurts (and is fun!), many locals in Stresa speak English, especially in hotels, restaurants, and tourist areas.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We are making a few exceptions for children in the wedding party, but we kindly ask that all other guests make arrangements for child care. We will provide a list of recommended services soon.
