The Wedding Website of Kelly Lai and Daniel Lai
Everyone please meet those we are entrusting to help us survive the night. Our ride or dies, our day ones, and our Ham Choi crew! But seriously we could not have asked for a better crew to stand by our side. The amount of stories they could tell, the experiences we've gone through, and the lifetime of memories already created. Here is one for the books!

Kayley Lai

Maid of Honor

Hi! I’m Kayley, maid of honor and sister to the bride. Fun fact: Kelly could not pronounce my name growing up and she made my alter ego, Kayla. She gave me the name in diapers and started bossing me around then eventually progressed to cooking me food in our dorm rooms and paying for my concerts. Now here’s to finally walking down the aisle! Disclaimer: *come to me for any questions/concerns. Please do not bother the bride. Thank you 😘

Matthew Lai

Best Man

Xin chao moi nguoi, tên tôi là Matthew, and I’m the proud brother of the groom, Daniel. Just a reminder, I am his favorite brother. Growing up, I’ve had the pleasure of sharing countless memories with Daniel, from misadventures to some pretty unforgettable moments (including cupping our farts and throwing it in each others faces and sometimes farting and accidentally pooping our pants). I'm beyond excited to stand by Daniel's side as he marries the amazing Kelly, and I look forward to celebrating this special day with all of you!

Elizabeth Nguyen

Bridesmaid

I am Kelly’s godsister/cousin, since little 2 and 3 footers we grew up like sisters. We ate lot, laughed a lot and slept a lot . We shared clothes, watched many Disney, Ghibli movies, and most importantly sailor moon. As teenage 5 footers, we took turns convincing Justin to let us watch anything but Thomas Train and started sharing interesting books to read. Later as adults (and still 5 footers) we had late night phone calls talking about everything and anything. Then the night Kelly’s call mentioned she would introduce “THE FIRST GUY” ever to the family I knew he wasn’t just any guy. He also had to enjoy movies, eh light reading, eating, laughing and sleeping a lot too. When I met Daniel not only did he have the above list checked off but he was HHHAAAM CHOI! So I knew he would fit right in with our family. Him being a great father and allowing us to gain a nephew was just a bonus for us. Teehee love you three! Can’t wait to officially welcome Daniel and Hayden to the family!

Justin Lai

Groomsman

Hi, my name is Justin. I am the brother. If you don’t know on which side that’s on you. I grew up obviously with Chi Hai but Daniel too. They were some of the most important parts of my formative years and who I am. So to be able to be a part of their wedding this way, is the greatest honor for a little brother. I am just happy to have the official label of being Daniel’s little brother. With them finally coming together I’ll get to continue many more years of standing up and down, laying in bed watching Grey’s all day, and having a fun time at Vietnamese charities!

Tiffany Tran

Bridesmaid

Hi, my name is Tiffany and if this bio could be written in gel pens, it would be. Kelly and I grew up writing essay-long letters in each other’s journals every time we saw each other. This girl would force me to stay awake before I headed to the airport by telling her stories and then inevitably fall asleep on me. I would give her back massages and be her personal assistant in many artistic endeavors. I like to say I played a small role in the amazing love story of Daniel and Kelly by urging her to give him a chance. Now, I am more than honored to be a part of her bridal party and celebrate the kind of love that inspires us all.

Brandon Diep

Groomsman

An introduction isn’t necessary for me but my name is Brandon Diep and I’m Daniel’s favorite cousin. I would’ve been the best man but opted out. I've known Daniel my entire 32 years of life—our bond is built on jokes, and tough love because what great friendship doesn’t involve laughter? From the moment Kelly entered our lives, it was clear she and Daniel were meant to be together. Their undeniable chemistry and connection were something everyone saw coming. I can’t wait to celebrate two people I love!

Krissy Nguyen

Bridesmaid

Who am I to the bride and groom? Some may know me as Kelly’s (🌈) cousin, Chrys. However, since diapers & bowl cuts, I’ve only known Kelly as one thing—and that’s my sister. A sister that has always had my back even after she done left us to Alabamers (and FINALLY came back). We’ve had so many memories together: from playing hide and seek as kids so we can run away from the younger cousins to throwing up in clubs, and talking for hours on the phone. Now when I call Kelly, especially for advice; I get Kelly with a touch of Daniel adding on the corniest of jokes (they’re not all bad lol). Ultimately, this just means I get another family member who I can treat as a brother and for that I’m thankful. #LoveAlwaysNguyens #LoveNeverLais

Davi Diep

Groomsman

Hi my name is Davi. I'm Daniel's long lost cousin. Fun fact: Daniel and I are not actually blood related even though we all tell everyone that we're cousins. Even though we actually never met in person until l the summer of 2017, I've known Daniel since we were teenagers playing CS every weekend despite being in different parts of the country. Core memory of the groom: Summe of 2017 in Seattle That summer in Seatle ended up being one of the best summers I've had. We got to hang out, lan party playing CS with all the cousins, and just doing random stuff around the Seattle. Core memory of bride & groom: EDC 2019 was I first met Kelly; we're all chillin, hanging out, 😵‍💫, and sitting on the floor outside of kinetic field when daddy tells everyone that he and Kelly are "officially" together even though we all saw it coming from a mile away. Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day and I look forward to creating new memories and going on more trips with both you guys. So happy for you two!

Celine Heng

Bridesmaid

Hi, I’m Celine, and Kelly is my favorite person. 🥰 She’s the karaoke partner you need on road trips, the one who’ll get stuck on a water slide with you, the one who’s always up for late-night crafting and snacking, and who won’t hesitate to wake up at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise—or spend the entire day binge-watching Grey’s or OTH. There are too many adventures to count, but through it all, Kelly has been a constant source of love, encouragement, and laughter. So excited to now add in Daniel to these adventures and experiences, they truly are a perfect match!

Michael Diep

Groomsman

Michael here, proud to stand beside my cousin Daniel on his big day! One of my favorite memories with him takes me back to a summer at an Ocean Shores hotel with our grandparents. We were convinced we were smooth operators, chatting up a couple of girls who (we thought) were totally into us. Confidence sky-high, we scored their numbers—only to realize later they were fake! Lesson learned: the charm might need a little polish. But hey, it all worked out because now Daniel has found his perfect match in Kelly, and I couldn’t be happier for them both!

Marry Ann He

Bridesmaid

Hi, I’m Marry Ann! I’m basically Kelly’s adopted sister. I’m forever grateful and blessed to have this woman in my life. She is someone who is so openly caring and loving that you just know when you first meet her. We have made so many memories together from Alabama, our trips, to me moving in with her family in Seattle. I especially love our everyday life of eating, late night talks, naps, introducing reality and classic tv shows to me, pickleball nights, never ending new events and activities we find from tiktok and our daily/weekly/monthly/yearly goals we make together (may not follow through with some, but we try our best haha). With living together, I got to see first hand how much Daniel and Kelly love each other especially with how they look and interact with each other. I’m a huge rom com lover and it’s like watching one in real life. I’ve seen so much growth in their love for each other and I’m am beyond excited to see more daily episodes of their life play out together <3

Kevin Luong

Groomsman

My name is Kevin, and I’ve had the terrible pleasure to grow up with Daniel. Although some doubt it, we did come out of the womb high fiving each other (even though he’s way older than me). My goodness, the amount of trouble this kid got me into is ridiculous (sorry dad). From playing counter strike in the late hours to collecting way too many yu-gi-oh cards, I wouldn’t exchange the childhood we had for anything. Now as adults, Daniel is still... a delinquent. But man, do I love my delinquent brother. Daniel has grown into such a great man and a great father. And I’m honored to have been able to witness it. I can’t imagine a more amazing person than Kelly to keep this man in check. Keep it rolling it Partyboi.

Jordan Thompson

Bridesman

Once upon a time, in a world that felt a little like an early Taylor Swift song, there was a little Black boy named Jordan and a little Asian girl named Kelly. From the moment they met, they were like peanut butter and jelly—different but impossible to separate. Wherever one went, the other wasn’t far behind, as if they shared some secret map only they could read. -Mischief Managed Their days were a swirl of laughter and inside jokes: late-night talks that were about absolutely nothing an also everything, bleach-blonde college nights, Spanish and Vietnamese code names so clever they might as well have been totally spies, and fried chicken Thursdays at the café, where the food wasn’t the only thing dripping with flavor. Boy check pleaseeeeeee 😍 Somewhere in those golden years, Jordan, ever the matchmaker, casually dropped some wisdom: “Hey, you know that boy Daniel? Yeah, pretty sure he’s got it bad for you.” Kelly, naturally, said no wayyyyy. Miss delulu Fast forward a few chapters, & plot twist-Jordan was right. Today, Kelly & Daniel are stepping into their forever, proving that even the best love stories need a lil time to bloom🌻 So here’s to Kelly and Daniel, living out their happily ever after while Jordan sits smugly in the audience knowing he called it all along. Love that for them. Truly the cutest little love story— cuter than anything Swift ever wrote. The end. ❤️

Jackie Tran

Groomsman

My name is Jackie Tran, and I’m honored to be one of the groomsmen. Kelly and Daniel are two of the most genuine and amazing people I’ve ever met. I still remember being there at EDC when they first announced their relationship, and now, it’s such a privilege to stand by them on their happiest day. Congratulations to both of you on this incredible journey together!

Adrian Lai

Flower Child

To Chi Kelly, I’m her younger cousin that got to grow up around her. To Daniel, I’m someone that loses almost every bet no matter the scenario 🤕 I’m so glad to have grown up with Chi Kelly and all the cousin hangouts we would have weekly. When I first met Daniel, I enjoyed his silly and fun personality that he brought around (even though you shit on me f u). I’m so glad that they invite me to every rave, hangout, dinner, take care of me, and so thankful that I consider them my closest cousins. I think my favorite memory together was my very first EDC. All the memories and moments made together is something I’ll never forget.

Brandon Heng

Flower Child

To those who don’t know who I am, I’m Cho Cho. I’m Kelly’s cousin, but that sounds weird to me so I’ll just stick with Chi Hai. Chi Hai has always been there growing up changing my diapers, giving me and justin baths, cooking food for us. Ever since she left Alabama, I miss her telling me to come over and hang out and always feeding me food or getting late night snacks eating mac and cheese. One thing that has stuck with me growing up is that she would always make me and Justin scrambled eggs and rice. To this day anytime I eat scrambled eggs and rice, I’ll always think about my Chi Hai making them for me while “Pyramid by Iyaz” is playing in the background. Daniel was the older brother I never knew I needed. I’m glad Chi Hai chose him to be her husband. Daniel has always shown me nothing but love. He has always been this goofy guy, but also is someone I look up to when advice is given. When we went to the gym, the progress we made together kind of tied to how much closer I got with him. The more I showed up and got to know Daniel the more I wanted him to become one of my older brothers. Especially when he farted a little too hard after a day at Planet Fitness. Even at EDC seeing him take care of all of us and especially Chi Hai. I can say Daniel is the perfect person to take care of my Chi Hai and make her happy for the rest of her life.

Hayden Lai

Ring Bearer

My name is Hayden and I am going to be the ring bearer for my dad and "Auntie" Kelly. Fun fact about me is that I like to play soccer. We've had so many memories together, but my favorite has to be when we all went on a cruise together (even though I got covid at the end)! I'm most excited for them to get a new house in the future.
