#HaiLai become One

Sometimes thinking about our love story we like to say it was fate. We both grew up with our families from Seattle, WA. Daniel's Bà Cố was one of Kelly's Bà Ngoại's best friends and they were very active members in the Vietnamese Catholic Church. Even our cousins went to the same schools growing up! Our paths never crossed nor did we even hear about each other growing up. It wasn't until 2016 did we know each other existed. We ended up living in the same apartment complex and our friend groups started to cross paths and merge. Daniel was always a jokester and always acted like a kid so it was a huge surprise to me at the time that he was the older brother between him and Matthew. During the first few years of our friendship, it was a lot of random calls, drunk texts, and him showing up at my apartment so he can talk about his love life issues. Our friendship was always full of laughter, jokes, me yelling at him, and he use to try and make me say I love you to him... ALL THE TIME... so I refused to for over a year of our friendship. I then told him at Voodoo Festival but he was too zooted to even remember... my sister and I even convinced him that he was so messed up that we left him sitting under a tree and came back for him. Then 2018 was when we both realized that maybe we could see this being something more but weren't quite ready to take the next step so we continued to just see where things went. Fast forward to May 19, 2019, EDC at Circuit Grounds, 1 something in the morning, Daniel grabs me and says, "you know I'm in love you with right? Will you be my girlfriend?". From there, we were long distance for about a year since I moved back to Huntsville while he was still in Birmingham. He eventually moved back to Huntsville and slowly once my sister moved to Seattle, we all took our turns coming back and here we are now! Living out our life dream to move back to Seattle to be closer to our family and seeing where this life and journey takes us!
