What does "beach formal attire" mean?

Oh, you haven't heard of this before? Neither had we. In fact, we may have made it up. Basically, pretend you were invited to a Kardashian wedding, but it's Rob's. Gentlemen, think linens, summer suits and button-downs (added bonus for chest hair) Dress to impress but leave the tuxedos and ties at home. No shorts or flip-flops please. Ladies, think summer or semi-formal dresses. The pier is high- heel friendly, but by no means necessary.

Are children invited to attend the weekend activities?

Answer

Children are definitely invited and welcomed for the weekend fun. To free you up so you can party like it's 1999, we are in process of securing baby sitters for the events. We will update as more information becomes available. If you have any specific questions on things, please just let us know.

Are open containers of alcohol permitted in Key West?

Answer

Key West actually prohibits open containers of alcoholic beverages in public. However, an ordinance dictates that there shall be one verbal or written warning for any first time offender. Second or subsequent violations are subject to arrest as a misdemeanor ordinance violation. Most are unlikely to find themselves subject to a documented warning, and an arrest thereafter. As a practical matter, local law enforcement quite often chooses to “look the other way,” rather than issue warnings.

Should we rent a car?

Answer

In short, no. Margaritaville hotel is centrally located right on the waterfront of Old Town Key West steps from Mallory Square and one block from Duval Street. Tons of great restaurants, bars, live music and all wedding events are within walking distance from the hotel. If you want to venture out or don't feel like walking, Ubers are readily available and fairly priced.
