Explore downtown Denver! McGregor Square shares the block with the Rally hotel and has a giant sports bar with a 100 ft TV screen (you can't miss it), food hall, pour-your-own-beer wall, and lively plaza. Dairy Block is catty corner from McGregor Square and another great food hall with artisan popups in the very photographable alley way. Union Station is the main transportation hub with terrific restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and "Denver's Living Room" where you can sit in comfy overstuffed chairs and watch the city go by. Explore every block of LoDo and take a stroll down the Cherry Creek Path to Confluence Park and the flagship REI building.
At the south end of the 16th street mall is the state Capitol. From there, head to the Denver Art Museum, History Colorado, Center for Colorado Women's History (where Jessica used to docent), the Clifford Stills Museum, and the Kirkland Museum. These points of interest are anchored by Civic Center Park.
A really great way to spend a few hours and the site of our engagement photos. Walk around RiNo (River North) district starting near 26th between Walnut and Larimer. This once-industrial neighborhood is now adorned with blocks and blocks of street art, shops, and restaurants. Check it out on your own or take a guided tour. You can walk here from the Rally, but be aware that there a few dicey blocks between as you get closer to the rescue mission on Park Avenue. Stay to the north on Blake if you can.
