We first met through mutual friends (Molly likes to take some credit for her unintentional matchmaking!) during a fun night out in Arlington. Amy was still in grad school in Florida and we had both just gotten out of serious relationships, so dating wasn't really on our minds. BUT, Matt was such a gentleman throughout the night and he ended up with Amy's phone number. We both played it cool for a (long-ish) time, but figured it out eventually :) Thank goodness for Cooper and Amy's immediate love!
Matt's Plan A of proposing at the top of our favorite hike didn't quite work with the freezing weather outside that day. However, he had the ring box engraved with the date, so it was happening that day!! Instead, Matt ended up proposing on the livingroom floor on Amy Kisses Day (it's a long story), just us together with Cooper. After talking about how much we loved each other, Amy said "I can't wait to get married", and Matt rolled over (super smooth), pulled out the ring and said "me too" then popped the question. It was sweet, genuine, full of love, and just perfect! Plan B was the best!
