Distance/Time: Approximately a 2-hour to 2.5-hour drive to the Stout's Island parking lot. Pros: This is the most convenient major airport and likely offers the most flight options and car rental availability.

Ground Transportation to the Shore House (Parking Lot)

Guests will need to rent a car or arrange for a shuttle/taxi service from the airport to get to the Stout's Island Lodge shore address: Address: 2799 27th Street, Birchwood, WI 54817. Tip: Suggest guests enter "Stout's Island Lodge" into their GPS instead of the street address. Upon arrival, guests will park their car in the provided parking lot. Note: All major rental car companies are available as options at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP).

Travel Note

Final Leg: The boat to Stout's Island

The Island is only accessible by boat; no guest vehicles are allowed on the island. Guests will take a short gravel path from the parking lot to the Shore House waiting area and dock. The boat ride to the island is typically 5-10 minutes. Note for Wedding Guests: The venue often makes special arrangements for wedding weekends, such as running extra ferries to accommodate guests at check in, check out, and arrival and departure times during the wedding events. The Stout’s Island ferry leaves the island for the shore 10 minutes to the hour. The ferry arrives at the Shore House Dock on the hour and then returns to the Island.

The hotel on the Island is full for wedding party and family, so we recommend the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Rice Lake. This is about a 20-25 minute drive to the Stout's Island ferry landing.
