1 hour and 50 minutes from the coast, PDX in Portland, Oregon is one of my favorite airports to fly into/out of. They have wonderful TSA, its easy to navigate, and they have cute Pacific Northwest brand shops like Pendleton and Columbia Outerwear.

There are great camping options available on the coast! Places we recommend: Kelly's Brighton Marina in Nehalem https://kellysbrightonmarina.com/ Camp sites for those that want to eat freshly caught seafood at a great price, or go crabbing yourself right on Nehalem Bay! Wright's for Camping in Cannon Beach http://www.wrightsforcamping.com/ A small and very quaint campground under a beautiful canopy of trees.
