Our Story

How we met

Boston, MA

In 2018, our journey began at Carbon Black, a cybersecurity company in Boston. Ryan, a product owner, and Sarah, a UX designer, worked together on the same project team.

Beyond the Cubicle Walls

Boston, Somerville, Japan

During our time at Carbon Black, we became close friends, exploring Boston, attending concerts, having canned Rosé wine tastings, and eventually traveling to Japan in March 2020 with our friends. Yes, that March 2020.

Pandemic dating

In May 2020, we started dating, with our first dates including hikes in state parks, movie marathons, and enjoying our favorite shawarma delivery. Ryan even trusted Sarah to give him a haircut, which she quickly turned into a lopsided affair.

Our first apartment

Somerville, MA

We settled into our first apartment in January 2021, conveniently located just a block away from Ryan's old place and Sarah's previous roommate, Jamie.

Boomer Joins the Pack

Somerville, MA

In March 2021, our family became three with the addition of Boomer. He quickly took over and became the ruler of the house. I mean, who can resist that adorable face?

We bought Boomer a home

Old Lyme, CT

Okay, only slightly kidding. In January 2022, we bought a home in Old Lyme, Connecticut, just a short drive from where Ryan grew up in Waterford and close to his mother, Susan, and his sister, Krysti's, family.

We got engaged!

Seceda, Italy (The Dolomites!)

In July 2023, during our trip to the Italian Dolomites, Ryan popped the question during a hike in the Seceda mountains. To celebrate, we hiked on until we found a rifugio, where we toasted with Aperol Spritzes and soaked in the breathtaking views.
