Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Franklin Tucker Eccher and Grace Greenwald
Here are some of our favorite closest-to-town adventures you might take while you're in Ouray, and we're happy to help you think through other excursions while you're in the San Juans. If you have an interest in hiking any of the 14,000 ft. peaks in the area (especially Mt. Sneffels from Yankee Boy Basin, which is a short but very technical drive from Ouray), check in with us for some local knowledge.
Ouray Hot Springs

Ouray Hot Springs

1220 Main Street, Ouray, CO 81432

Ouray is famous for its hot springs — this pool is by far the biggest and most family-friendly, but if you're looking for a more natural setting, you should also check out Orvis (clothing optional) and the Wiesbaden (vapor caves!)

Ouray Perimeter Trail

Ouray Perimeter Trail

1230 Main Street, Ouray, CO 81427

Begins just across the street from the visitor's center and takes you the entire perimeter of the town of Ouray—5.6 miles total, but see the trail website for many exits and entrances along the way.

Mouse's Chocolates & Coffee

Mouse's Chocolates & Coffee

520 Main Street, Ouray, CO 81427

Our favorite coffee shop in Ouray! A great post-hot springs trip.

Box Canyon Falls Park

Box Canyon Falls Park

30 Box Canyon Road, Ouray, CO 81427

Beautiful and very short & easy hike just above town.

Ouray Via Ferrata

Ouray Via Ferrata

280 Quray 361 County, Ouray, CO 81427

Via Ferrata means "iron path"—it's a protected mountain route where you climb (roped in) on ladders, rungs, and steel cables fixed to the rock face. It's a neat mix of hiking and rock climbing.

Ute Indian Museum

Ute Indian Museum

17253 Chipeta Road, Montrose, CO 81403

Great place to stop on your way south from the airport and learn more about where you are!
