The Wedding Website of Lauren Elizabeth Gramlich and Michael Robert Taylor

Flight

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA)

DCA (Reagan) is the closest airport to our wedding mass and reception (about 20 minutes). It is definitely the most convenient airport if you don't want to rent a car, because you can take the metro from DCA and get almost anywhere in the city (including our mass and reception). OTHER OPTIONS IAD (Dulles) is on the Virginia side of the DMV and is not close to our mass and reception, but you can metro in from IAD on the Silver Line and avoid renting a car. A metro ride from IAD to our church will take you at least 90 minutes. Although this commute is long, the area around Dulles is safe and suburban, so if you really want that, the distance might be worth it. BWI (Thurgood Marshall) is an airport on the Maryland side of the DMV, which is closer to our wedding events. Although you cannot metro to DC from BWI, you can take the MARC/Amtrak train into DC. You can usually find train tickets for about 10-20 dollars and the ride into DC's Union Station is 24 minutes. *We do not recommend staying in Baltimore, because it is a really bad area. However, flying into BWI is still a great option because it often has the cheapest flights out of the three airports and it has relatively easy access to DC via the trains.

Hotel

Fairfield Inn & Suites Washington, DC/Downtown

500 H Street Northwest, Washington, DC 20001
 (202)-289-5959

This hotel is directly across the street from our church, St. Mary Mother of God. It is also a 2 minute walk from the Chinatown Metro station, so you won't need to rent a car during your stay if you'd rather use public transportation. There's also a great little Irish Pub on the first floor of the hotel (which opens out to the street) https://www.irishchanneldc.com/

Travel Note

AirBnb Information

Here are some relatively safe and nearby locations you can search when looking for an AirBnb: 1. North Silver Spring (fairly metro accessible) *Downtown silver spring (close to the DC border and anywhere off George Ave) is not very safe, so try to avoid that area if you can. 2. Hyattsville (usually metro accessible) 3. Cheverly (need a car to drive to the metro) *Cheverly is the safest Maryland option that is also relatively close to our wedding events (within 30 mins). 4. Virginia - stay here if you want to be really safe and don't mind driving 45 mins to 1 hour to attend the wedding events. IMPORTANT: Do NOT stay in Southeast Washington or anywhere South + East of New York Ave NE.
