Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Lauren Elizabeth Gramlich and Michael Robert Taylor
There is so much to do in the DMV, and we hope that all our guests find time to have a little fun in the days surrounding the wedding. Here are our top recommendations!
Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America

Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America

1400 Quincy Street Northeast, Washington, DC 20017

The Franciscan Monastery is perhaps our favorite spot to pray and talk in the whole DMV. It is only a few minutes from Margot Hall, where our wedding reception will take place, and we hope that many of you can take a look inside the gorgeous church with its stunning architecture, rich history, and moving sacred artwork. The gardens are bedecked with flowers for every season of the year and boast some of the prettiest walking paths in DC.

Brookside Gardens

Brookside Gardens

1800 Glenallan Avenue, Wheaton-Glenmont, MD 20902

We went on one of our first dates here and love the beautiful walking trails. There is a Christmas light show at night!

Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

400 Michigan Avenue Northeast, Washington, DC 20017

We took our engagement photos right behind the basilica in the beautiful Mary garden. The church itself is worth seeing, especially the crypt, where we have attended daily mass together.

Lincoln Memorial

Lincoln Memorial

2 Lincoln Memorial Circle Northwest, Washington, DC 20002

The Lincoln Memorial is our personal favorite of the monuments in downtown Washington, but all of them are superb and within easy walking distance of each other around the Tidal Basin.

Annapolis Historic Main St

Annapolis Historic Main St

206-298 Main Street, Annapolis, MD 21401

Annapolis is a charming, historic Maryland gem. Pirates Cove Restaurant has some of the most delicious crab cakes (tried and tested!) and St. Mary's Parish has a deep history (150 years!) and its high altar has been well preserved. The Naval Academy is right in the heart of Annapolis as well and has an impressive history, spectacular landmarks, and a peaceful atmosphere. The waterfront is a perfect place for walking (with a coat!) and watching the sunrise on a winter day.
