In the notorious year of two thousand and twenty, Olivia left her hometown to pursue her dreams in New York City at The King's College. She had plans. Big ones! But little did she know, God's plan was infinitely bigger, and assuredly better than what she had decided her life would look like. Enter Graeme. He too had left his hometown the year before, and had quickly made a reputation for himself on campus. Wherever Olivia went, someone was talking about how helpful Graeme was, how smart, how hard-working. He seemed to be everywhere! The two ended up in the same Ethics class, and interest was sparked. Graeme appreciated Olivia's lively contributions to class discussion: She valued his insight on her papers. In August 2021, Olivia took a job in the housing department at their college. And who was her coworker? Graeme, of course. He was also the Faculty Assistant in her Post-modern class, and the security guard at her building. What didn't this guy do? In September, Graeme asked Olivia on what he thought was a date. Olivia thought it was two friends hanging out. Yikes. The misunderstanding put a pause on things for a few months, but Graeme was patient and God was gracious to bring the two back together. Tenuously, sweetly, cherry blossoms and romance began to bud. Somewhere along the way, banter in their cubicles became long talks in Central Park. Friendly waves in the lobby turned to holding hands. Cautious attempts at a second date turned to trips across the country to meet each other's families. By the grace of God, their lives became intertwined and will now stay so until death does them part.
