The first weekend Gracie met Jackson’s parents, they went to the Busted Nut for lunch, so it holds a special place in our story (and our stomachs). Bonus points — grab some merch on your way out and head home with a Busted Nut shirt, hat, or sweatshirt as the ultimate post‑wedding souvenir.
Hastings, Minnesota has a rich history of brewing that dates as far back as the late 1800s. In 1919, Prohibition decimated the brewery scene across the country, and a town once home to at least four thriving local breweries hasn’t seen one until Spiral Brewing opened 15+ years ago. Spiral Brewery has a great variety of craft beers along with some yummy seltzer options for our gluten free friends!
You can hop on the Mississippi River Regional Trail directly behind the Confluence Hotel and head west on the trail, crossing over the Mississippi River lock and dam. Or, cross the Hastings Bridge and go northwest on the trail all the way to Prescott, WI. The trail is perfect for walking, running, or biking. Bike rentals are also available at the Confluence Hotel — please stop by the front desk for more information on rentals.
Muddy Waters is located in Prescott, WI — less than a 10 minute drive from the Confluence Hotel. The restaurant features a large outdoor deck area with multiple levels overlooking the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers. They also have a large stage with live bands playing every weekend, so if you have time, it’s definitely worth stopping by to enjoy the views, the music, and a great show.
Point St. Croix Marina is Gracie’s family’s former marina. Shrimp Shack is one of Gracie and Jackson’s favorite spots in Prescott — it's a laid-back, tiki-themed bar known for its tropical drinks and scenic views overlooking the marina and the river. They also only serve shrimp and pizza, hence the name. You don’t need to be a marina member to go to Shrimp Shack — everyone is welcome!
