With the 3 mile loop around the historic Newport mansions and their oceanfronts, the Cliff Walk is a great way to see the beauty of the city and just how close you are to the water. Parking is available at the nearby beach parking lots and then various spots to stop, admire the view and take gorgeous photos
During the day check out the beautiful historic Newport mansions on Bellevue Ave, with their featured listen tours and trolley rides to see more than one. Tours are part of the National Historic Society of Newport and all tours are listed on the individual mansions’ websites.
Every day from 10 am to sunset, there are 45-90 minute boat cruises around the harbor to see the Newport shoreline and the lighthouses around the island. Each cruise is different, some with cocktails included! We recommend booking this at least 1 month out to see what is available for that weekend
Explore one of the oldest and largest standing forts from our world wars and the intricate design and military forces that were developed there. It also has one of the best views of the Newport Harbor and the host of various music festivals in the summertime.
Check out the beaches just down the street from all the hotels on our list, Easton Beach heading into downtown Newport and Second Beach on the other side of the Aquidneck hill at 315 Sachuest Point Road. Each beach has a car charge of $20 per vehicle, you can bring your own coolers and there are usually food vendors or food trucks in the parking lots nearby.
There are plenty of places for great food in downtown Newport, whether you’re looking for the best cup of clam chowder, a raw bar feast or some comfort food with a great water view. Some of our favorites include Benjamin’s, Brick Alley Pub, The Black Pearl, Diego’s and so many more! Most require a reservation in the summer, check out Open Table for all the places available
