Maid of Honor
Rachel has known Ruth since she was a fetus. Everyone, even the doctors, said Ruth was going to be a boy. But Rachel always knew Ruth would be a girl. Right away, Ruth became Rachel’s best friend and big-little-sister. Growing up, Rachel relied on infant Ruthie to protect her from robbers at night and would often sleep under her crib. Ruth still clutches Rachel while they walk to protect her.
Best Woman
Siblings since her birth, Olivia is simply the coolest. All of Nick’s friends who meet her immediately like her more. When Nick gets complimented on his clothes the reply is usually, “Thanks, my sister got it for me.” No big brother has ever looked up to a little sister more.
Bridesmaid
Rachel met Allie the first week of college. Upon meeting, Rachel unintentionally told Allie the wrong place to sign up for voice lesson auditions. She did this multiple times over the course of a week. Luckily, Rachel was able to stalk Allie and correct the mistake each time. Allie didn’t hold it against her and they quickly became friends.
Groomsman
Here's the thing about Dave: he literally knows everything. Every time Nick has a question, Dave has an answer (the most recent instance was about bogs). He's a jack of all trades but a master of art, especially tattoos. Dave actually tattooed all the ones on his body himself!* *Do not fact-check this.
Bridesmaid
Caitlin and Rachel met in Kindergarten. They’ve done all sorts of cool things together: from making up their own secret language for note-writing, to making fake AIM profiles to message random guys who worked at Safeway (they really knew how to live it up as 12 year olds), to planning their respective weddings--they have truly been through all stages of life together!
Groomsman
The only thing you need to know about Evan and Nick’s friendship is that they made several videos reenacting—action for action, word for word—various award show presentations. For no reason. You don’t do something like that with someone unless it’s real love.
Bridesman
Darrin and Rachel met in college and then they were roommates. They lived in a slanted apartment that was infested with mice that Darrin let Rachel name! One time Darrin had to safety pin Rachel into a Rapunzel costume while she was having a panic attack. He stayed friends with her despite all the yelling!
Groomsman
Nick first knew Jack as “that guy who bikes around campus without any shoes on.” Then he became “very handy roommate.” Then he became “friend for life.” Talk about powering up yer Pokémon!
Bridesmaid
Evelyn and Rachel met in college (and so did Nick and Evelyn’s big brother). Evelyn met Nick years before Rachel did and the first thing he ever said to her was that she looked sweaty! Rachel and Evelyn love to watch whatever bachelor franchise show happens to be airing together every Monday night (hi, Jo)!
Groomsman
Nick used to say Jay and he were randomly paired as college roommates. His mother corrected him: “Denison placed you together.” And what a placement it was. Once while listening to a terrible Kings of Leon song they both sang the same improvised line at the same time, which alone was worth the price of tuition.
Bridesmaid
Rachel and Hannah went to college together. They were in the same acting class and the same sorority. Hannah was the most beloved member of APhi! Rachel was more of an elusive, mysterious member of APhi (ie, no one knew who she was and she never showed up for anything). But Hannah didn't care and loved her anyway!
Groomsman
Friends since high school, John has always been the total package. The voice of an angel, the mind of a scientist, the heart of a... man. If John weren’t already married Nick would be keeping Rachel far away from him.
Bridesman
Rachel met Jeff in college and then they lived together. In techniques class junior year, Jeff sang “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” and Rachel was forever changed. When they lived together, she oftentimes stood outside his door at 4am on nights when she was scared, but only came in if he sounded awake.
Groomsman
Jon is the epitome of “work hard, play hard,” and Nick has learned from him about both. Also when the two of them wear hats they look kinda the same. Once they Face Swapped thinking it would be funny but it was the stuff of nightmares.
Bridesmaid
Rachel met Kimberly in Kindergarten. Kimberly told Rachel what games they were going to play on the playground and Rachel was very thankful for the guidance. Kimberly says Rachel taught her how to read and then they got in trouble for knowing how to read too early. Rachel only remembers the getting in trouble part.
Groomsman
Sophomore year of college Nick saw Marc across the quad wearing the coolest boots. He knew they had to be friends right away. But #mudmarc is much more than a pair of cool boots. He also owns several cool shirts, all made by his wife, Dani. (Hi, Dani!)
Officiant
Whatever is written about Amanda cannot and will not do her justice. So we won't put anything at all.
Groomsman in Absentia
Nick and Zac met freshman year of high school in a production of Grease. Zac was Danny Zuko and Nick was everyone’s favorite, “a T-bird.” Once upon a time Zac had more body hair but now Nick is the body hair king.
