Direct flights to Roanoke, Virginia tend to be few and far between. If you are planning to fly the nearest larger airports are Greensboro, NC (GSO, 2 hrs away), Richmond, VA (RIC, 3hrs away) and Washington, DC (DCA, 4 hrs by car, 5 hrs via Amtrak). The ceremony and reception will take place in the Old Southwest neighborhood near Downtown Roanoke. I am working on securing a hotel block near Downtown and a block at a budget hotel near the airport/interstate. We'd love to have everyone stay with us but sadly our 2br 1 bath little Cape Cod Cottage gets crowded very quickly. If you'd like to have a little getaway while here I encourage you to checkout area AirBnB's. There are dozens of little mountain retreats tucked away nearby. Roanoke features access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Trail. There are many activities to explore with great views, despite the cold season. Can't wait to show off our cute mountain city!

Train

Amtrak from DC

If you fly into DC you can catch the train from Union Station to Roanoke for $25-$55 (as of June 2024) and it's a 5 hour trip (with wifi, I think?) that deposits you directly into Downtown Roanoke! If you stay at The Hotel Roanoke, the train platform is only 0.1 miles from the hotel!

Flight

Greensboro, NC Airport

Greensboro is the nearest international airport with direct flights to bigger cities. It is a 2 hour drive to Roanoke but shuttles are available if you prefer not to rent a vehicle.
