Our engagement and elopement from Bekah's perspective...
If you know us at all you know we love to be outside together. Preferably in the woods near a source of water. Bonus if we have dogs with us! So last fall when I broke my ankle (on a hike next to a lake) just a couple of weeks before my birthday (late November), I was pretty bummed out. Fall and winter hikes are our favorite time of year to be out in the woods. Gratefully the break and sprain weren't very serious and I was able to bear weight in a boot within a couple of weeks. Charlie planned to take me to one of our favorite spots (The Cascades Trail) for a short hike to a deep pool where I can cold plunge in the crystal water. Charlie promised we could take mushy couple's photos for my birthday. Which is when he shocked me by getting on one knee with a ring! I was delighted to say YES! We took a few photos that day and decided to return to the same spot to elope just a month later - Christmas Day, 2024.

"Our Spot" on the Cascades trail. This washed out stone bridge was originally built by the CCC in the 1930's. Now it overlooks a small waterfall and deep pool that's always cold, year round!
This was taken on our back stoop the morning of our elopement. This was probably one of my favorite moments that day. Just being together, Charlie in my fuzzy slippers.
