We went here on our first time on the island. Though it can be a tourist tap and the busiest, the waters are beautiful, no doubt. The village surrounding this beach offers a plethora of local bars that overlook the blue bay. This beach is surrounded by olive trees that create beautiful scenery, unleashing the view of stunning bays where excursion boats take tourists to the nearby isolated beaches. You can also walk up the Monastery at the top for amazing views, give yourself 30mins to get up in the summer heat.
Gouvia is the main marina of Corfu and welcomes many yachts from all over Europe. It is also the most affluent. A former fishing village that’s been developed over the years. It is close to Ypapanti Church. We would recommend Gouvia for couples and families who want a low key break but with the option of popping over to Corfu for the night life, shopping or sight seeing.
Stunning secluded beach, it is an unorganised beach, totally unspoiled but just beware, its unofficially nudist beach.
This is stony beach, which is home to the Durrell family white house – Gerald Durrell was the famous author of ‘My family and other animals’ and other books which describe his time here in Corfu, which was the inspiration for the famous series The Durrells in Corfu.
