We met through a mutual friend at a "Pumpkin Party." Shortly after, Tanner asked Gloria on a hike followed by a beer at a local brewery. Over a brew, Gloria mentioned she was heading to Colombia and Tanner, being in-between jobs at the time, spontaneously decided to join. We got to know each other pretty quick through international travel, especially after a good bout of food poisoning. As a friend of ours says, "It's the bacteria that binds us." Safe to say we saw the worst... and the best, of each other those first couple months we met!

Tanner popped the question at the end of a quarentine style stay-cation filled with some of our favorite activities; camping, hiking and trail running. Tanner gave Gloria a big rock... in front of the big rock, Denali. It was the perfect blue-bird day in Denali National Park and we even got to enjoy it with Gloria's Mom and Dad and our pup, Milo.

Same Date. New Location! Our wedding will now be in Talkeetna, AK! Just 2 hours north of Anchorage, it's known to be a base camp for mountaineers heading to Denali and has historic roots as the original headquarters of the Alaska Railroad. The town is small but has a lot of character- good food, art galleries, prime fishing and hiking, and their Mayor is a cat (seriously). You can’t go wrong in Talkeetna!
