The Church and Convent of La Merced is a Catholic church located in the city of Antigua Guatemala in Guatemala. The architect Juan de Dios Estrada was in charge of its construction from 1749. The church was dedicated in 1767. Iglesia de la Merced is one of the many ornate buildings to check out while in Antigua. And during the day (especially on the weekends!), the outside of this church is filled with locals setting up stands and selling tostadas, drinks, and even handicrafts.
