Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! There will be transportation availble to and from the Upper Shirley Vineyard at the Hilton Downtown Richmond. When you are filling out the RSVP, please make sure to note if you will be taking the buses.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The wedding is Black Tie optional. While a tuxedo is not mandatory, it is still the preferred option for men. Guests can also choose to wear a dark suit and tie as an alternative. For women, floor-length gowns are appropriate, but cocktail dresses are also acceptable.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding and reception will take place primarily outdoors, so please keep an eye on the weather as the date approaches. We recommend that women bring a shawl or light jacket, as it may get chilly in the evening. The wedding ceremony will require a short walk in the grass, so women please take note when you are choosing your shoes!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore your kids, we’re keeping the wedding a child-free event to allow everyone (including parents!) a night off to relax and celebrate with us.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is plenty of free parking on-site at Upper Shirley Vineyard.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We’re having an unplugged ceremony — no phones or cameras, please. It means so much to us to see your faces, not your devices, as we say our vows!
