Things to Do

The following are several recommendations for Hood River:

Hood River Fruit Loop

A must! This is a great resource to get into the Hood River Valley – inventory of fruit stands, wineries, breweries, cideries, fields of flowers. Check to see what is open and in-season: https://www.hoodriverfruitloop.com/. Google Map of stops here: https://tinyurl.com/HRFL25

Hiking

The Columbia River Gorge is full of amazing hikes on both the OR and WA sides. Check out https://www.alltrails.com/ to pick out a hike that suits your desired length and difficulty. West of Hood River= mossy evergreen waterfall vibes; east = epic vista high desert vibes. We like: Coyote Wall on the WA side: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/coyote-wall-loop-trail Mt Defiance and Starvation Ridge Loop on the OR side: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/mount-defiance-trail-and-starvation-ridge-loop (As name suggests, this one is hard, but there are some shorter options from the same parking area).

Hood River Waterfront

Eat (Pfriem and Solstice recommended), watch the kiteboarders, relax.

White Salmon

Across the bridge on the Washington side of the Gorge. Cute little downtown (Feast and Everybody's Brewing recommended) with great views of Mt Hood. More hikes, more river, more wineries :)

Mosier

Town just east of Hood River. Renting a bike (or e-bike!) and biking the historic Columbia River Hwy Trail to Mosier and back is an epic vista day trip along the Gorge. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/oregon/historic-columbia-river-highway-state-trail-hood-river-to-mosier Lunch in Mosier: Mosier Company

For all the days along the way
