It was a hot Friday in August of 2022. Weeks earlier, Taylor had suggested to Courtney that they get dressed up and go to dinner at Acreage, a cidery in Lafayette, Colorado where they had their first date. Courtney loved the idea-- beautiful views and an excuse to let her hair down from the standard work-from-home top knot-- but she was suspicious. Taylor Mallory wants to get dressed up? And drive an hour to dinner? And, perhaps most alarming, abandon the tradition of Pizza Fridays?! Something had to be up. Nonetheless, Date Night arrived and it was time to leave for dinner. They arrived at Acreage just before golden hour and were seated at the table. Taylor suggested Courtney grab a drink and that they go to take in the view before dinner. Chile Guava cider in hand, her arm looped through Taylor's, they navigated through the groups of other patrons to the edge of the property. "Have I ever told you how much I love you?", Taylor asks. Other than "you're my favorite person to lay in bed and watch Netflix with", Courtney can't remember all that he said before he got down on one knee. It was a blur of a moment but Courtney said, "absolutely yes". Taylor surprised Courtney with a dinner including her parents, Walt and Stephanie, his sister and brother-in-law, Jordan and Adam, and two of their closest friends, Tom and Natalie. Rocky, the couple's dog, was eagerly waiting at home and, judging by the tail wags and tippy-tapping of his tiny paws, is very excited for his walk down the aisle with his mom and dad.
