We chose for our ceremony to be at the Friends Meeting House because we wanted art to be apart of our special day. We have visited the space with friends to enjoy the sun set, and we highly recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys art, or is looking to pray or meditate. On Friday evenings, there is a twilight "showing" of the installation that is free and open to the public. We recommend swinging by to enjoy watching the sunset before grabbing a bite to eat.
There are a number of really cool exhibits on display during our wedding weekend, including "George Washington: America's Enduring Icon", and Yayoi Kusama's “Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity”. If you are looking for something to do on Friday or Sunday, we highly recommend checking it out!
Pictures don't do it justice. This is our favorite barbecue spot in town. We personally love sharing the brisket (order it moist), chips and queso, and washing it down with the Big Red on tap. (Pro Tip: If you're not staying Downtown, their Katy Freeway location may be closer.)
If you're looking for a more "upscale" dining experience, we cannot recommend Squable enough. A favorite splurge spot of ours, we've celebrated many important anniversaries, birthdays, and milestones here. We've never had a bad dish here. If you're going on Sunday, make sure you order the lasagna. If you're drinking, definitely try the martinis.
POST was one of the locations for our engagement photos, which we chose for its urban, colorful, artistic layout. If you're looking for something to eat and can't agree, we recommend checking out the dining hall which has a variety of different cuisines and desserts to choose from. Check out the events calendar as well!
