The wedding will be at Guyton Ranch (35293 US Hwy 285, Jefferson, CO 80456), which is close to the Breckenridge Ski Resort (~45 minutes) and Denver (<2 hrs). We've rented the entire ranch for the weekend, and are aiming for the wedding to be fun and in no way stuffy / overly formal. It's an awesome property in the middle of a large valley with lots of mountains (Floridians and Aussies, see glossary below for "mountains"). Google Maps will take you in the wrong entrance. Friday night: Nice casual Saturday (ceremony / reception): Cocktail Sunday Brunch: Casual Overall, we want you to be comfortable! Please realize that this is a ranch venue with grass, gravel and fields. Tall stilettos are not recommended (plus we need to get our groove on). Bring on the colors and the flair along with something warm for post-sunset!
Check out the travel tab of our website for more info!! Denver has a large international airport. From there to the Ranch is a 1 hour and 50 minute drive. You can rent a car easily from the airport, carpool with folks coming from the airport or Denver, or - if enough people have the same idea - we would be happy to help coordinate a shuttle van.
We'll have a shuttle driving people to and from the venue to their local hotel/rentals (<15 mins drive), although sadly not as far as Breckenridge. If you are planning to book an Air BnB / VRBO please check-in with Adam and Georgia to make sure our shuttles will be able to get you home at the end of the night.
No! Don't worry, it'll still be late summer (not quite autumn yet). Average temperatures for the area in August are in the high 60s (around 18 celsius), though this past year it was well into the 70s. It will most likely be very sunny, but may be chilly at night. We'll get a campfire going - it is the wild west!
Yes. The ranch is over 9K ft (~2800 meters) above sea level. Be sure to drink a TON of water between your tequila shots. If possible, feel free to come to Colorado a bit early to acclimate and enjoy the rest of the state!
Please check out the "Things To Do" section of our website!! The ranch is close to hiking and biking trails, fly-fishing rivers, national forests and general amazing nature. The ranch is also close to a small town called Fairplay, which is the basis for the TV show 'South Park'. There are a few bedrooms at the ranch reserved for the wedding party and Adam and Georgia's cousins. Unfortunately, if this isn't you, you will need to find lodging (check the travel tab - we have blocked rooms at local hotels!). If you are hoping to share costs and don't know who is planning on coming to the wedding, just ask Adam or Georgia and they will connect you with some new friends! If you aren't as concerned about sleeping in a proper bed, you are welcome to camp or park your RV / van on the property. Just let Adam or Georgia know if you plan to do this ASAP as there are only a certain number of tents / campers we are allowed to have.
