FAQs

Question

What is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

March 25th :)

Question

Can I bring someone extra?

Answer

If a plus one was added to your invite via name, they are invited. Please email/text me if a plus one was not given to you; we might have a few "no's" which would leave room for new "yes's".

Question

What do you mean by traditional Mass? Is that a Catholic thing?

Answer

Short answer, yes. The Traditional Latin Mass is the Mass that was celebrated before the introduction of the English Mass via the Second Vatican Council. The TLM is said entirely in Latin, minus the homily. Contrary to popular belief, the Latin Mass is not just the English Mass translated into Latin. There are parts of the Latin Mass that aren't included in the English Mass, such as the Last Gospel. If you are confused about when to kneel, stand, and sit, I recommend grabbing the red booklet titled "Latin-English Booklet Missal" (can be found in the pews in the Church), or a Latin Mass Missal before you come. There is also a Latin-English translation available that can be found by downloading the Laudate app, clicking on "readings for the day", and scrolling down to the "Latin Mass". The Nuptial Mass we will be celebrating is what is considered a High Mass.

Question

Can I receive communion on the hand?

Answer

Given that our wedding will be a High Mass following the 1962 missal (the thick little book we use), reception of Holy Communion in the hand is not permitted by the rubrics. Father will not administer communion if you have your hands out to receive Our Lord. The method that is in the rubrics is to receive on the tongue, kneeling if possible (don't worry if you are too old to kneel, or if you have an injury).

Question

How far is the Church from the reception?

Answer

30 minutes!
