AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The island is super popular in the summer months, and finding reasonably priced places to stay can get difficult the longer you wait. The good thing is, you can always camp on the property the reception is on! It’s a lovely field with a pond and a view of turtle back mountain, and yes, there will be toilets! We will have the property for the whole week around the wedding, so if you'd like to come on Thursday and leave on Monday, that is totally doable! If that still isn’t your jam, please book a hotel/vacation rental/Airbnb as soon as possible!
YES. YES. YES. (If you’re driving on) I make them every time I go on and off island, even in the winter. Reservations open 2 months, 2 weeks and 2 days before the sailing. So that means if you check August 23 for a sailing on September 6 and it’s booked up, they will put more reservable reservations on the site at 7 am on September 4. So let me say it again. Yessssss. Make a reservation IF YOU HAVE A CAR. If you’re walking on, there’s no need. But make that reservation if you plan on driving!
Yes, there are taxis! There is no Uber or lyft. Town is a good 15 minutes away from the ferry landing, and the reception site is 2 miles from town. I do suggest renting a car before you make it to the island. There are rentals on island, but if you want more choices than a Ford Taurus with bald tires from 2002, I’d suggest off island. If you would rather stay in town and Taxi to and from the reception and ferry, please refer to the TRAVEL section of the wedding website to find your best option for Island Taxis.
Casual! George and I will be wearing our wedding clothes, but if you'd like to be in jeans and a t-shirt, more power to you! We had a lot of hawaiian shirts at our wedding, dresses and skirts, you name it. Whatever makes your heart sing will make the night more enjoyable not only for you, but for us to!
