Important Information

Travelers arriving in Greece are required to have either a negative PCR certificate from a testing laboratory, for a Covid-19 test taken no later than 72 hours before arrival or a negative antigen (rapid) certificate taken no longer than 48 hours before arrival. This test is mandatory for all tourists (including children over the age of 12). Proof of a negative test is not required for travelers that have completed their vaccination (i.e., 14 days have elapsed since the last vaccination) and hold a vaccination certificate. Proof of a negative PCR test is not required if the traveler was tested positive with COVID-19 in the past 30 to 180 days. This can be proved by presenting a positive PCR molecular or an antigen test result performed by an authorized laboratory or a medical certificate confirming that the holder was tested positive with SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. The certificate is issued 30 days after the day of the first positive COVID-19 test and is valid for 180 days after it.

Before arrival, travellers must fill in the Passenger Locator Form (PLF) no later than 23:59 EEST(Greek time) (11.59 PM) of the day before arriving in Greece. Upon arrival, travelers arriving in Greece are subject to: - Sampling RAPID antigen tests at the entrance gates for selected individuals. - Mandatory isolation if they test positive for SARS-Cov-2, following a sampling test. In this case, the travelers and their travel companions are accommodated in quarantine hotels, where they will undergo further PCR testing to confirm the initial diagnosis. Guests will stay in seclusion hotels for a maximum of 10 days. The expenses of the accommodation in quarantine hotels are covered by the Greek state. Please keep in mind that a vaccination certificate or a negative rapid test, along with ID are required for attendance at the wedding as well. Where is Klafsi?

Klafsi is 285 km (177 miles) far from Athens, 380 km (236 miles) far from Thessaloniki and 9 km (5 1/2 miles) far from Karpenisi. Starting from Athens take the Athens- Thessaloniki highway, pass by the city of Lamia and follow the signs to Karpenisi and then to Klafsi. You will need approximately 4 hours driving from Athens and 5 hours from Thessaloniki.

Are there any sights on our way to Klafsi from Athens?

There are two routes you can choose from for your trip to Klafsi from Athens. The first one is to follow the highway E75 and enjoy a more comfortable and shorter trip. If you choose this route, it is worth paying a visit at Thermopyles, the historic landmark where the legendary Leonidas and the Spartans defeated hundreds of Persians. The second option is to take a more scenic route, travel through local roads and explore Arachova, the famous archaeological site of Delphi, and the beautiful city of Nafpaktos. Please keep in mind that this route is definitely longer and thus more tiring, therefore it would be better to add an overnight stay. Enjoy!
