Travel Note
Unless you are an Indian citizen or an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), YOU WILL NEED A PASSPORT AND A VISA TO TRAVEL TO INDIA. Don’t worry, you can apply for the visa 30 days before you leave for India using the link provided (we know the website looks sketchy, but trust us, this is the site). The visa costs about $30 USD. Please make sure you have a print out/hard copy of this visa when traveling.
Flight
To get to Chandigarh, we recommend that you fly directly to Delhi first. Most major international airports will have options of flights to choose from. Please factor in around a day’s worth of travel when traveling from your home to India. Airlines that fly to India: Air India, British Airways, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Lufthansa, United Airlines, American Airlines, and Ethiopian Airlines.
Flight
Once you arrive to Delhi, you’ll need to choose a pathway to get to Chandigarh. After arriving to Delhi from your home city to Delhi, you can either take a regional flight to (~45 min) or take a bus or cab with your luggage to Chandigarh (4-5 hours). Once you have confirmed flights to Delhi, please coordinate with Gurmehar and Genevieve and they will help you to coordinate travel. If you're planning to fly from New Delhi to Chandigarh, consider booking with Air India. As part of the Star Alliance, they allow you to travel with your international luggage allowance at no extra charge—so you can bring all your essentials without the hassle!
