Hamel Family Wines
A local family owned winery with fun tasting experiences with an educational element. They have a variety of tasting and tour options, check out their website to see whats available and make a reservation. The sooner the better as with all of the wineries in the area. Tastings prices range from $75 per person to $150.
The Donum Estate
Another local winery in Sonoma with a beautiful location and fantastic wines. This winery is also well known for their art collections including works from Ai Weiwei, Keith Haring, Subodh Gupta, Doug Aitken, and more. Check out the website to learn about the different tasting options. Prices range from $95 to $175 per person depending on the tasting option.
Sonoma Ballooning
Hot air balloons are a quintessential Napa/Sonoma experience. If you are prepared to wake up early and get a little chilly, this is by far the best way to see the sun rise over beautiful wine country.
The Petrified Forest
A California Historical Landmark park filled with redwood trees which had been petrified in a volcanic eruption approximately 3.4 million years ago. The have the largest petrified tree in the world, 'The Giant' is located here. This is a great place to spend a morning or an afternoon, maybe with a picnic lunch. Admission is approximately $10 per person.
Salt & Stone
This is a nice Sonoma restaurant with outdoor seating. Situated just below Kunde winery, it has beautiful views of the local landscape. Its good for larger groups as well!
The Charter Oak Restaurant
If you are looking for a bit of a trip over to Napa this is a great restaurant to try out. Really delicious food and nearby downtown St. Helena, the main town in Napa Valley, a cute town with nice restaurants and boutiques to walk around.
