Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Hannah Delzer and Noah Ganske
Alma may be a small town, but there’s a lot to see and do in the area! While you’re here, we hope you take a little time to explore the local shops, restaurants, and beautiful views along the river. This town means so much to the bride and her family. It’s where her grandparents chose to settle down—building their home on 2nd Street, raising five kids, teaching in local schools, and soaking up everything this little river town has to offer. Some of our favorite family stories come from Alma: boat rides on the Mississippi, hunting adventures, gatherings at the VFW and Rod & Gun Club, and more than a few legendary meals at the local restaurants and bars. It’s a place full of history, great memories, and a laid-back vibe that made it the perfect spot for us to say “I do!”

Buena Vista Park

Buena Vista Road, Alma, WI 54610

For the best view in town, head up to Buena Vista Park! It’s a bluff-top spot with trails, picnic areas, and an amazing overlook where you can watch barges go through Lock & Dam #4 and take in the river views.

Nelson Creamery

S237 Wisconsin 35, Nelson, WI 54756

Just down the road, Nelson Creamery is a must-stop for us! They’ve got sandwiches, soups, cheese, and (most importantly) the BEST ice cream. It’s cozy, cute, and perfect for a quick bite or sweet treat.

Township 23 Distillery

W2363 County Road D, Nelson, WI 54756

Just a few minutes from Alma, this small farm distillery in Nelson is such a fun spot to visit! They make their own vodka and gin right on their family farm, and you can try them in a tasting or a cocktail. It’s a cozy, laid‑back place to hang out and definitely worth the short drive.

The Jewel Golf Club

1900 Clubhouse Drive, Lake City, MN 55041

It wouldn’t be a recommendation list if Noah didn’t sneak in a golf course or two! The Jewel is his absolute favorite in the area. He swears by the course layout and never stops talking about the bluff views. If you’re a golfer, this one’s a must!

The Stone Barn

S685 County Road KK, Nelson, WI 54756

If you love pizza, you have to try The Stone Barn! It’s tucked away on the backroads of Buffalo County and serves up unbelievable wood‑fired pizza. Between the great food, laid‑back vibes, and pretty countryside, it’s one of those places you’ll never forget.

Bucknuckles Bar & Grill

S1501 Wisconsin 88, Alma, WI 54610

For a true Wisconsin experience, head to Bucknuckles! It’s a fun, quirky spot that’s perfect for grabbing a burger and fries and soaking in a little local flavor.

Danzinger Vineyards

S2015 Grapeview Lane, Alma, WI 54610

OUR VENUE!!! The best spot of them all in our opinion! Make sure you give yourself time to try all their amazing wines and food options. Plus, it has the best views in town.

Fire and Ice

305 North Main Street, Alma, WI 54610

Attention coffee and tea lovers! Fire & Ice in Alma is a cozy European-style spot inside Hotel de Ville where you can grab coffee, tea, ice cream, and desserts. Perfect for a treat or a caffeine fix while exploring downtown!

Slippery's Bar & Grill

10 Church Avenue, Wabasha, MN 55981

Just across the river, Slippery’s is a great spot for a nice meal with river views. Fun fact—it was even featured in the movie Grumpy Old Men! Definitely a local classic worth checking out.

Water Lily Gifts

111 North Main Street, Alma, WI 54610

Before you head out, be sure to stop at Water Lily Gifts! It’s the perfect place to find a little something special to remember your trip.
