The HideOut

We can accommodate camping for up to 30 guests on the wedding property! This is the best way to experience the high Sierras and not miss any of the party. This is a great fit for our guests that don't want to miss the late night party past the 2am shuttles. The campground at the Hideout is small and tight and we expect and hope that it will be loud with partying over all 3 days. This is limited; please contact Jeff or Gretchen if you are interested. There is a bathroom in the campgrounds and we will do our best to accommodate additional restrooms and space to get ready in the main house. Camping is dry, meaning no fires or camp cooking unless in an RV or camper van. RVs or camper vans are allowed but there are no hook ups available and it must be able to be pulled up and over a VERY steep hill.

Kirkwood Village

~30 min drive to venue, Great Cell Reception. This is a ski village that offers a lot of different hikes throughout the ski resort. Lots of different options through Pyramid Peak Property Rentals depending on your needs ranging from affordable "hotel" style condos to six bedroom luxury houses, both in the village and off of nearby highway 88. Several options are also pet friendly, although we ask that you do not bring your pet on the day of the wedding itself. Use the code HIDEOUT2021 for a 20% discount of select properties! (The code may have changed to HIDEOUT2022) There is a small convenience store in the village that closes at 5pm as well as a very small roadside eatery. We suggest that you do all your grocery shopping before arriving in the area.

Kit Carson Lodge

~20 min drive to the HideOut. Minimal cell phone reception but wifi available for guests. Located on the shores of Silver Lake, high in the Sierra range, this historic lodge is a destination resort of housekeeping cabins and hotel rooms. Your hosts, Mike and Jill welcome you to stay and explore the wonderful hiking, boating, fishing and relaxation that the area provides. All accommodations are built of cedar with knotty pine interiors and include private baths. The hotel units all have lake view decks to enjoy the outdoors among the towering pines. The cabins sleep from two to eight persons and all have outdoor decks. The resort includes a general store, full-service restaurant, and offers boat, kayak, canoe, peddle boat and stand up paddle board rentals. You don't need to stay at the resort to take advantage of the lake rentals, fishing or hiking trails.

South Lake Tahoe

~1 hour away If you have never experienced Lake Tahoe, we suggest that you consider adding a couple days on either side of your visit. The lake is stunning with lots of boat rentals, fishing, hikes, restaurants, golfing and casinos. You can also take the gondola to the top of the Heavenly ski resort, but be sure to book this ticket far in advance! There are several different grocery stores and lots of shops here. We don't suggest staying this far away for the wedding events themselves.
