It's gonna be hot (at least to start)! So please keep that in mind when you're choosing your outfit! We want you to be comfortable and not suffering in the name of a dress code! ;) While this isn't a casual dress event, it's not a formal one either. Think "summer wildflowers" and garden party attire! Don't be afraid of embracing color! Ladies: Light and airy dresses, colorful floral jumpsuits or rompers, flowy skirts, linen pantsuits, summer chic straw hats, etc. Please note that most of the venue is gravel or grass, so we don't recommend stilettos or pointy heels! Consider block heels, wedges, nice sandals, or flats instead! Gentlemen: Wear your crispest shirt but leave the tie and jacket at home. ;) Short sleeve, linen, cotton, light and airy, solid or patterned, button-up shirts. Need some shade? Pair it with a fedora! Linen pants, slacks or nice shorts are fine. Please no jeans, cargo shorts, or baseball caps. Keep it classy but cool!
Parking is available at Yokayo Ranch. If you plan on driving, we recommend carpooling from your respective hotels if possible. Please don't drink and drive! We want you all to stay safe. Please secure a sober ride back to your accommodations. If you need to leave your car overnight at the ranch, we will help you get back to it in the morning. :) Ukiah is not a major city so unfortunately, available Uber and Lyft drivers may be few and far between. If you are unable to secure a ride back to your hotel using one of these apps, there are a few local taxi services available as well: Taxi 707 (Open 24 hours) (707) 272-1322 Redwood Taxi (Open until 1am) (707) 462-9000 Gramps's Taxi (707) 468-1400
The pool party starts at 1pm on Sunday! Please get a good brunch or lunch in you before you come! Snacks and drinks will be available for the first part of the day, and pizza and salad will be served around 5pm. Definitely bring a towel and sunscreen! Hat and sunglasses also recommended. You're welcome to bring a floatie if you want to lounge in the pool!
We are aiming to get in the river by 11am on Tuesday! The float starts at Trout Creek campground in Potter Valley. Please be advised that there is no cell phone service there. If you want to follow us to the campground, meet us at Hopper's Corner Store in Potter Valley at 10am (address below). If you have room in your car, you can blow your raft up there with their outdoor air pump, or you can wait until we get to the campground and we will have pumps available to use. We recommend bringing a sandwich and/or snacks and some drinks in a small soft-shell cooler that can fit beside you in your raft (we use the backpack cooler available at Costco and it's perfect). We will have gallon-sized Ziplock bags available if you need to put your sandwich/food in one to keep it from getting wet in your cooler. :) When you arrive at Trout Creek Campground, you can pull in and drop your stuff off at either site #11 or #16 (we have them both reserved). Then you will have to drive back up and park along the dirt road outside of the campground entrance, and walk back down to the campsites (don't worry, it's not a long walk). Please make sure you lock your car. We will have a place to secure your keys at the campsite so you don't lose them in the river. Bring: - River raft (can be purchased at Big 5 or Wal-Mart in Ukiah. MUST be a river raft, not a pool floatie) - Food - Drinks - Small cooler - Sunscreen - Hat - Sunglasses - Change of clothes (if you want to change out of your swimsuit afterwards) - Towel (to leave behind for after the float) Hopper's Corner Store: 10010 Main St. Potter Valley, CA 95469 Trout Creek Campground: 20500 Eel River Rd, Potter Valley, CA 95469 Directions to Campground: From Hwy 20 drive north on east side Potter Valley Road for 5.9 miles to Potter Valley. The road will jog to the left, and then turn right on Eel River Road. Continue on Eel River Road and cross the Eel River Bridge, turn right on County Road 240B. Continue 2 miles to the campground.
