Travel Note
• Positano is a vertical town with many stairs and steep walkways. We recommend arriving during daylight hours, as porters are often available to help carry luggage from the marina or main road to your hotel. If arriving late in the day, a private transfer may be the better option. Also, porters are unavailable to help with your luggage after dark. • If choosing a private transfer, please note that the Amalfi Coast roads are narrow, winding, and mountainous, with many curves and beautiful coastal views along the way. Local drivers are highly experienced navigating these roads, so while the drive can feel adventurous at times, it is a very common and reliable way to travel. • The Parcheggio Liparlati Elevator helps you avoid Positano’s stairs, connecting lower town to hillside villas like Villa Oliviero. Located on Via Guglielmo Marconi near Hotel Eden Roc, it runs daily from 7:00 AM to midnight and costs about €2–€4 per ride. • 💶 Cash & Currency The local currency in Italy is the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted, but we recommend carrying some cash for tipping, luggage porters, taxis, public restrooms, and smaller purchases. • 📱 Download Ferryhopper If you plan to travel by ferry during your stay, we recommend downloading the Ferryhopper app to view schedules and book tickets in advance. • 🛂 Passport Requirements A valid U.S. passport is required for travel to Italy and should be valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date. • 👟 Pack Comfortable Shoes Positano is known for its stairs, hills, and cobblestone streets, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. ❤️
